From baking pies to traveling, Thanksgiving is a busy time for so many. While it's a great time to eat turkey, visit with loved ones, and shop those irresistible Black Friday sales, the weather can easily put a halt to your plans. To give you a preview of what the weather will be like this year, The Old Farmer's Almanac just released its 2024 Thanksgiving forecast— and it looks like it'll be a pretty cool and dry holiday.

To predict weather trends and potential rainy and snowy conditions, The Old Farmer's Almanac compares solar patterns and historical weather conditions with current solar activity. To create its Thanksgiving weather forecast, experts from The Old Farmer's Almanac don't just look at how the weather compared to the previous year; they look at averages over decades.

November will be a warmer month for the Great Lakes and most of the East Coast with minimal precipitation, while much of the Deep South and Southeast will be wetter than normal. Cooler weather will grace the Gulf Coast and the Rockies toward Washington State. However, it will be warmer than normal from Oregon down to California. Alaska will also experience a warmer month with some precipitation across the south, and Hawaii will see cooler and wet weather on the Big Island while the rest of the islands will be dry.
