To evoke even more cheer, Thumbtack revealed its annual list of the Most Festive Cities in the U.S. To curate its list, Thumbtack used data from customer requests for holiday light installations on the platform from October 2023 to October 2024. Rankings are based on the relative frequency of such requests adjusted for the population of state and metropolitan areas. The top three most festive cities in the U.S. are in Texas, including Austin, Dallas, and Houston. North Carolina also joined in on the holiday spirit, with Charlotte and Raleigh both in the top 10. On the West Coast, San Francisco and Sacramento, Calif. were even more festive than they were last year, per Thumbtack's report. Of course, there are other ways to be festive than just hanging lights, including baking holiday cookies, visiting a Christmas tree farm, and watching your favorite holiday movies. All this to say, don't be discouraged if your city isn't on the list.
