News Recall News Lactaid Milk Recalled in 27 States Due to Potential Almond Exposure The allergen is not called out on the product label. HP Hood LLC, based in Massachusetts, discovered the issue during a routine maintenance program. The recall is for the brand's 96-ounce containers of refrigerated Lactaid Milk with the code 51-4109 P2. The following variations of the Lactaid Milk are affected by the recall: 96 oz Lactaid Whole Milk; best by Nov 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28 and Dec 02, 03, and 04.96 oz Lactaid 2% Milk; best by Nov 23, 24, 28, 29, 30, and Dec 01 and 04.96 oz Lactaid 1% Milk; best by Nov 24, 25 and Dec 05.96 oz Lactaid Fat Free Milk; best by Nov 24 and 25.96 oz Lactaid 2% Calcium Enriched Milk; best by Dec 01. The products included in the recall were shipped to retailers and wholesalers from 09/05/24-09/18/24 in Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. While no illnesses have been reported, those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may experience a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. Symptoms may include hives, flushed skin or rash, tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth, swelling in the face, tongue, or lips, coughing, wheezing, vomiting and/or diarrhea, difficulty breathing, dizziness and/or lightheadedness, swelling of the throat and vocal cords, and loss of consciousness. If you begin experiencing any of these symptoms, you may need to seek medical attention.
