Once the crisp days of fall finally arrive, stunning foliage is something so many of us look forward to each year. It seems like the colorful leaves are gone as quickly as they start, and it's best to make the most of this time while it's here.

Week of September 16

The leaves are just starting to turn in the northern part of the country, especially Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, and parts of Michigan and Maine. The rest of the country is experiencing some minimal leaf changes.

Week of September 23

Much of the northeast, midwest, Rocky Mountains, and Pacific region will begin seeing minimal to patchy foliage, with more northern states like Maine, Vermont, Montana, Minnesota, and North Dakota experiencing partial to near peak foliage.

Week of September 30

Northern Pennsylvania to upstate New York and northern New England will begin seeing peak foliage as well as the Rockies, northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, and northern Michigan. Minimal and patchy foliage begins in the northern areas of southeast states as well as in South Dakota, Nebraska, and northern parts of Arizona and New Mexico.

Week of October 7

Leaves are beginning to change in midwest states, California, Oregon, Nevada, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kansas, West Virginia, and Alabama. Fall foliage will peak in Vermont, Maine, the southern half of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Michigan, and Massachusetts.

Week of October 14

Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, northern parts of New York and Connecticut, eastern Michigan, and the northern parts of Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana will be past peak. Most of Colorado will peak or be near peak at this time.

Week of October 21

Fall foliage will peak for Tennessee, Washington, Maryland, Oregon, Indiana, Delaware, and Virginia during this time. Patchy and partial peak will begin for southwest states like the western part of Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Week of October 28

Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Kentucky, northern Nebraska, and eastern parts of Wyoming will be at peak. States like Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Georgia will begin seeing leaves change.

Week of November 4

Iowa, Missouri, southern Illinois, Kansas, New Mexico, California, northern Georgia, and southern Utah will be at peak. Parts of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, most of Georgia, and some of New Mexico will be near peak.

Southern Florida, Texas, and Louisiana will be at near peak while the southern part of Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Alabama and the central and northern parts of Texas will be at near peak foliage.
