Before that, she worked in print and digital communications at the National Cancer Institute. She joined Martha Stewart in 2024 after four years with the pet sites Daily Paws and The Spruce Pets. She also spent a summer in New York interning in the features department at Seventeen. She’s covered topics ranging from local breaking news to pets, lifestyle, food, health, and fitness content. Education Abbie received a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri in 2016. Her thesis focused on the framing of health content in women's health and fitness magazines, and she also served as a graduate teaching assistant for a magazine editing course.She received a Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in magazine editing from the University of Missouri in 2015. As part of her senior capstone project, she worked with three other team members to create a women's literature and lifestyle magazine called Meridian. The magazine won first place in the Start-Up Magazine Project category of the 2015 Student AEJMC awards. She minored in both nutrition and religious studies and received a multicultural certificate after completing extensive coursework in diverse cultures, including a study abroad experience in Florence, Italy.
